2009 IACT Green Communities Award Winners
Green Community of the Year - Dyer
The Town of Dyer was named as a 2009 IACT Green Community of the Year. Not only did the Town meet the minimum score required to be a Green Community, but ranked highest among other communities its size.
The Town's exemplary efforts in the area of green programs earned them the 2009 IACT Green Community of the Year award in the 10,000-49,999 population category.
Green Community of the Year - Greencastle
The City of Greencastle was named as a 2009 IACT Green Community of the Year. Not only did the City meet the minimum score required to be recognized as a Green Community, but ranked highest among other communities its size.
The City's exemplary efforts in the area of green programs earned them the 2009 IACT Green Community of the Year award in the 5,000 - 9,999 population category. This is the second year in a row that the City of Greencastle has received a Green Community of the Year award.
Green Community of the Year - South Bend
The City of South Bend was named as a 2009 IACT Green Community of the Year. South Bend had to fill out a 51-question survey in the areas of purchasing, operations, measuring success, and sample projects.
South Bend not only achieved the threshold to be named a Green Community, it also ranked highest among communities of its size. The City's exemplary efforts in the area of green programs earned them the 2009 IACT Green Community of the Year award in the 50,000-plus (large community) population category.
Green Community - Evansville
The City of Evansville has been designated as an IACT Green Community. To be recognized as an IACT Green Community, Evansville had to meet a minimum score on a 51-question survey in the areas of purchasing, operations, measuring success, and sample projects, with scoring considerations given to the size of the community and the likelihood it would or could implement certain types of programs.
Green Community - Fort Wayne
The City of Fort Wayne has been designated as an IACT Green Community. To be recognized as an IACT Green Community. Fort Wayne had to meet a minimum score on a 51-question survey in the areas of purchasing, operations, measuring success, and sample projects, with scoring considerations given to the size of the community and the likelihood it would or could implement certain types of programs.
Green Community - Indianapolis
The City of Indianapolis has been designated as an IACT Green Community. To be recognized as an IACT Green Community, Indianapolis had to meet a minimum score on a 51-question survey in the areas of purchasing, operations, measuring success, and sample projects, with scoring considerations given to the size of the community and the likelihood it would or could implement certain types of programs.
Green Community - Lafayette
The City of Lafayette has been designated as an IACT Green Community. To be recognized as an IACT Green Community, Lafayette had to meet a minimum score on a 51-question survey in the areas of purchasing, operations, measuring success, and sample projects, with scoring considerations given to the size of the community and the likelihood it would or could implement certain types of programs.
